Five Castles switches from Xerox to Linoprint technology

Five Castles Press has replaced a five year old Xerox press with a Heidelberg Linoprint CP, the Commercial Production model. It has been delivered to the Ipswich plant where it is running from 6am to 6.30pm daily.
“We looked at equipment from a number of digital suppliers but the Linoprint quality, price and the ability to produce four page A4 landscape and six page A4 portrait work was convincing,” says Rob Burnett, managing director of Five Castles Press.
“Already we are impressed. It is robust and heavy duty and the operators love the reliability and ease of use. Digital quality is a big step up from the previous generation technology, a much better match for our litho presses and to date the new press has handled runs as small as five up to a 50,000 personalised job.”
The Linoprint CP is a complement not a competitor to the company’s litho line up which includes two Speedmaster XL 75-5 B2 presses and a B3 Speedmaster SM 52-5H. It also offers wide format printing and comprehensive studio and finishing services.
“For us it was the productivity that was key. We love the fact we can print onto papers up to 400gsm and use litho stocks and even contoured or embossed sheets,” says Mr Burnett.
The company handles everything from a business card to a fine art catalogue for customers in East England and nationwide. Its flexibility and customer service are key selling points and it is an environmentally aware business.
